April 6, 2015 in Generic How To's by admin

If your Audi is equipped with the homelink function, you can program your remote garage door to open with it instead of using the remote.

The Homelink panel is located in the roof of your Audi near the rear view mirror or in the sunvisor.

In order to program it follow this steps (be carefully as your garage door may open and close as you do it).

Step 1. If it is the fist time programming, press and hold for 20 seconds the two outer buttons (marked I and III) of the Homelink panel. Do not release the buttons until the LED indicator slowly flashes.

Step 2. Now, press the homelink position button that you want to program (I, II or III), the LED will turn off. Hold the button pressed until the LED indicator slowly flashes.

Step 3. Step out of the car with the garage door remote and press and hold it while pointing it to the front of your car until the car hazard lights start to blink.

– If they blink 3 times, programming was done sucessfully.
– If they blink only 1 time, programming as failed, you should try it again.
– If you wait until 1 minute and no blink occurs, you need to try it again. from another distance or pinting to a different spot of the front of your car.

Step 4. Once you get a triple blink, go back to your car, press and hold the button that you were programming.

If the LED indicator turn on continuously, you’re done, you have sucessfully programmed your garage door to your Audi!
